The arts helps to tackle stigma by opening mental health up to a new audience. Here Andrew shares some of his poetry and experiences with us.

New day begins

Sunshine

Blue skies

All is good.

Point check.

The eyes see

But the mind

No recognition

Of the beauty

Of the day.

I feel numb,

Body aches

With every move

I make.

All I want is?

Silence!

Then search

The inner caverns

Of my soul,

And find the

Person I once was,

Is that person lost?

No one knows,

My pain,

My visions,

Or the horrors

I have seen.

No one can

Walk a mile

In my shoes,

Not one!

On the verge

Of emotions,

Teetering on the edge

The dam is close

To overflow

The tears that come.
