See Me

How are we supposed to be?
Don’t say “yourself” that’s plain to see!
How are we supposed to be?
Restricted by our limitations or wild and free?
How are we supposed to be?
Looking over our shoulder, whose watching me?
How are we supposed to be?
Living in fear and anxiety?
How are we supposed to be?
Two fingers up to illness and disability?
How are we supposed to be?
Hiding under the duvet, woe is me?
How are we supposed to be ?
Burden on on the NHS, our friends and family?
How are we supposed to be?
Working hard to contribute to society?
How are we supposed to be?
Constantly educating others how life is for me?
How are we supposed to be?
Sometimes making the best of the worst we can be.
How are we supposed to be?
Putting life on hold for the brown envelope DWP.
How are we supposed to be?
Whose that person in the mirror looking at me?
How are we supposed to be?
Often alone and feeling lonely.
How are we supposed to be?
Finding stuff to do that’s realistic and free.
How are we supposed to be?
Helping ourselves and each other and being friendly?
How are we supposed to be?
Warriors, fighters, spokespersons or just little old me?
